2015 – 2021 Mustang Tapered Racing Stripes

The 2015 – 2021 Sixth generation Ford Mustang represents a vast improvement in style and function over previous models. When Ford created this generation of Mustangs, they definitely did it right. They captured the essence of the late 60’s Vintage Mustang while at the same time giving it all the modern bells and whistles. With perfect curves and an overall mean look. Like all Mustangs, racing stripes enhance the already beautiful look of the car. We designed a nice tapered hood stripe that we have combined with 20 feet of 10 inch cut to fit striping. This kit covers the hood, roof, and rear deck of the car with some to spare. This is a high quality yet affordable kit for the do it yourself racing stripe installer.

Cut from either 3m Series 50 or Oracal 651 Vinyl, our tapered Mustang racing stripe kit comes in a variety of colors and consists of two precut tapered front stripes, and 20 feet of 10 inch wide striping for the remainder of the car. The stripes are easy to install using a premixed spray bottle of soapy water, a pair of scissors or exacto, and a squeegee. As always, always start with a clean car and install out of the sun and wind.

When installing, I run a piece of masking tape front to back as a guideline. This insures that the stripes go on perfect and straight. The tapered hood stripes are normally applied first by peeling off the paper back, spraying the adhesive side of the stripe and the car. (Note – Do not get the stripes wet with the paper on them) Slide the stripes into place one at a time, and then squeegee them on. Keep the top of the stripes wet while squeegeeing to avoid scratching them. Also, covering the squeegee with a soft cloth will protect the stripes. After applying the hood stripes, cut what you need from the 20 foot roll of 10 inch striping for the roof and rear deck. Apply using the soapy water method and then trim the stripe at the ends. Keep striping that you are not using in a dry area to protect it.
